Breakfast - Yes, it may sound strange, but I suggest heading straight to the red light district for breakfast. This is only because the area is home to the Bakkerswinkel (Warmoesstraat 69), one of the best bakeries in Amsterdam and a cozy setting in which to start the day. Homemade scones, jam, bread, and a wide selection of teas and coffees will leave you wanting nothing except a second course.
Morning - Head off to the Museumplein and step into the Van Gogh museum to view some of the Dutch artist’s most famous work. The museum always puts forward has a number of other excellent exhibitions to complement the Van Gogh classics. Be sure to check out the reasonably priced prints in the gift shop.
