Breakfast - Yes, it may sound strange, but I suggest heading straight to the red light district for breakfast. This is only because the area is home to the Bakkerswinkel (Warmoesstraat 69), one of the best bakeries in Amsterdam and a cozy setting in which to start the day. Homemade scones, jam, bread, and a wide selection of teas and coffees will leave you wanting nothing except a second course.
Morning - Head off to the Museumplein and step into the Van Gogh museum to view some of the Dutch artist’s most famous work. Young and old are attracted to THE place of moving borders and widening horizons. Go to Amsterdam. You are in for a real treat. Culture and art work go hand in hand with contemporary pleasure. See Amsterdam any time of the year and have fun. Public transportation is well organized, but if there is one town in the world where you rent a bike than you should do that in Amsterdam.
